Artificial intelligence is reshaping the public sphere twice over. Governments and businesses are using AI to deliver services and make decisions, and at the same time society is racing to oversee AI so that it stays safe, fair and lawful. This course teaches both.

It draws a clear line between AI in Governance (using AI to do the work of an organisation) and AI Governance (the laws, frameworks and practices that keep AI trustworthy), then shows how the two fit together. You will move from the core distinction and the timing dilemma at the heart of AI policy, through public-sector adoption and real case studies, into the principles of trustworthy AI, the global rulebook, and detailed deep dives on how the USA and India govern AI. You finish by building an action plan for your own organisation.

Every module blends a short video overview, clear lessons with original diagrams, knowledge-check quizzes and a hands-on interactive activity. No technical background is required.

What you will be able to do

·       Tell apart AI in Governance and AI Governance, and resource each one properly.

·       See how AI is adopted at national, state and local levels, and in business.

·       Apply the five principles of trustworthy AI across the whole AI lifecycle.

·       Navigate the global toolkit: OECD, UNESCO, the EU AI Act, ISO and NIST, and regulatory sandboxes.

·       Compare how the USA and India govern AI, and borrow what works.

·       Build a practical AI action plan for your organisation.

Who it is for: Leaders, managers and practitioners in government (national, state and local) and in business who want a complete, practical grounding in both using and governing AI.
